RETREAT ON GEORGIAN BAY

ONTARIO

Proposal of Architecture Responsive to the Site’s Tree Parallax

The project aimed to create an escape retreat away from the urban city lifestyle. Located in the deep landscape of Georgian Bay, the architecture fades into the natural “grid” parallax of tree-log forest. The proposed architecture is meant to create another layer of man-made parallax that blends into the forest; very much like the idea of movie-montage scenes.

The program is formed of multiple platforms. The kitchen interchange into a surface for food preparation & dining - into an outdoor swimming pool with a fire-pit gathering space. The changes of platforms indicates division of spaces arranged for privacy.
