Proposal for Public Library Design in Viceroy Maldives’ Resort

1.5 Months/ 2011

On one of the leading luxury resort destinations in the world, the Maldives. Yabu Pushelberg designed 32 Water Villas, resembling the hull of an inverted dhoni, a traditional islands fishing boat. Splaying out from the beach into the lagoon, significantly separated to ensure intimacy and space for guests, the one- and two-floor bungalows include private plunge pools just off the view deck and public spaces.

Similarly to the shapes of the Villa, the shapes of the public spaces imitated the look of the dhoni. In this design, the rendering illustrates a view of the public library in the resort.

I was involved in space design, creating the render scenes, choosing and applying the finishes, choosing the Furniture, and modeling all the details.
